CAHSEE Test Prep

As a student in the California School Districts, CAHSEE prep is the single most important thing you do . To pass the CAHSEE tests, you face the most difficult of all the assignments so far. And you have to pass to graduate from the high schools.

You first start taking the CAHSEE when you reach your 10th grade. You have to take the Math and English(ELA) tests. Once you pass the tests you do not have to take them again. But if you fail either one, you get at least five more chances to take the test again. See the test dates below.

A few things to remember about the tests

1) No calculators are allowed

2) The tests are not timed - There is no reason to feel hurried if it takes you the whole day.

3) All tests are in English language.

Preparing for the Mathematics CAHSEE test.

As in any other test prep, Mathematics in CAHSEE involves a lot of practice. Being thoroughly familiar with your subject is one way to ace the test. There are various options for you when it comes to finding enough practice. You can also get a lot of practice from tutors.

The math section is entirely multiple choice and covers all mathematical subjects-algebra, geometry, statistics, data analysis and probability, along with decimals, fractions, and general math skills.

Preparing for the CAHSEE English test.

The English and Language Arts part of the CAHSEE consists of two sections: reading and writing.

Except for the writing section, all reading section questions are multiple choice and covers vocabulary, reading and comprehension of literary and non-fiction skills.

The writing sections expects the student to write clear, coherent, and focused essays demonstrating the students' awareness of audience and purpose. Essays contain formal introductions, supporting evidence, and conclusions.  Students also combine the rhetorical strategies of narration, exposition, persuasion, and description to produce texts of at least 1,500 words each.
